This extension is designed specifically for Cloud environments where the Universal Code policy restricts direct access to local networks and file systems.

It enables secure and standardized file operations using the WebDAV protocol, which is natively supported by Windows and compatible with most third-party WebDAV providers. Through this integration, the extension allows Business Central to interact with external file storage systems in a fully cloud-compliant way.

Included in the package is an IIS-based Web Service interface that acts as a connector between Business Central and the WebDAV endpoint. This component replicates the core functionality of the legacy File object previously used in on-premises Business Central environments, allowing developers and users to achieve similar outcomes without violating cloud constraints.

The extension is ideal for cloud migrations and hybrid scenarios that require controlled data exchange, such as importing master data, exporting reports, or automated file synchronization across systems.
